Online Course Development and Emerging Instructional
Technologies for Faculty Development 2009-2010

A series of training opportunities are available to faculty for professional development and personal growth. Training will be conducted as workshops, individual or small-group consultations, and online formats. An announcement will be made prior to any workshop offered. Consultations will be conducted at times convenient for the trainer and trainee. Online tutorials are available now and will continue to be available throughout the school year. All are welcome to participate in any activity regardless of experience. Participation in workshops will earn you
professional development credit.

Blackboard (Bb) Basics
Blackboard is SCC’s Internet-based course management system. Learn to deliver your courses online as a Web-Centered (WC), Hybrid (HY) or Web-Enhanced course.

Bringing Your Screen to Life
Learn how to connect with your audience by creating interactive video tutorials, training, software demos and presentations. With full-motion recording capability that records the screen you can produce professional quality video presentations with small file sizes to post on the Internet, burn on CD-ROM, or deliver any way you choose in all the popular file formats. Programs utilized will include Camtasia Studio.

Adding Multimedia to Support Learning
This self-paced module explains how to effectively design content to improve student learning. Four learning units are presented:
• Learning Unit 1 will discuss the Multimedia Principle, the Contiguity Principle, and the Split Attention Principle.
