Seasonal Flu Vaccine / H1N1 Awareness |

From the Jackson
County Health Department:
We will begin H1N1
vaccinations on Monday,
October 19th thru
the health department.
We have a very limited
amount of H1N1 Vaccine
at this time. We do
not have any Preservative
Free vaccine for Pregnant
Women or young children
but it will be forthcoming.
We have shots for
2 and older with preservative,
and nasal spray for
ages 2 through 49.
The attached information
sheets contains the
information for the
target groups. I have
also attached the
consent forms for
everyone's convenience.
Our flu vaccine line
is 587-8201 and will
be updated as more
vaccine arrives.

campus safe
and healthy.
We are in

with regional
health officials
to ensure
we have
the latest
and most
up-to-date
information.

tips have
been issued
by the Centers
for Disease
Control: |

Cover
your nose
and mouth
with a tissue
when you
cough or
sneeze |
| • |
Throw
the tissue
in the trash
after you
use it |
| • |
Wash your
hands often
with soap
and water,
especially
after you
cough or
sneeze.
Alcohol-based
hand cleaners
are also
effective |

Avoid
close contact
with sick
people |
| • |
If you
get flu-like
symptoms,
stay home
from work
or school
except to
seek medical
care and
limit contact
with others
to keep
from infecting
them |

the Seasonal Flu Vaccine
for ages 18 and above
beginning Wednesday,
September 9, 2009. Hours
are 8:00 AM to 11:30
AM and 1:00 PM to 4:30
PM on Monday, Tuesday,
Wednesday, and Friday.
On Thursdays, hours
are 8:00 AM to 11:30
AM and 1:00 PM to 7:00
PM. The cost of the
seasonal flu vaccine
is $20.00 OR if you
have Medicare or Medicaid,
please bring your card
with you. Please call
the Flu Vaccine Information
Line at 828-587-8201
for updates regarding
the seasonal flu vaccine
for children and pregnant
women.

Hours are 9:00 AM
to 12:30 PM. The cost

vaccine is $20.00

and for the availability
of vaccine for children

H1N1 Flu
Virus
The seasonal
flu vaccine will not
protect against the
H1N1 flu virus (swine
flu). Protection against
H1N1 influenza will
need a separate vaccine,
which is still being
developed. H1N1 vaccine
availability will
depend on the Centers
for Disease Control
(CDC) recommendations
and supply. Updates
will be provided when
more information becomes
available.
