Board members of the Judy Moore Scholarship Endowment Committee announced recently that Megan Crisp of Franklin was selected to receive the 2018 Judy Moore Memorial Scholarship. Awards are given for tuition, books, room and board and any other directly related educational expenses to candidates who qualify and are enrolled in Nursing degree programs.

This scholarship was established in 1997 to honor the legacy of Judy Moore, a public health nurse who primarily practiced in Macon County. The endowment was created by Moore’s friends and the Macon County Board of Health, affiliated with the N.C. Community Foundation.

Crisp is a student in the dual-enrollment program at WCU and Southwestern Community College with a goal to complete the four-year Bachelor’s of Science Nursing RIBN (Regionally Increasing Baccalaureate Nurses) program. Crisp is the daughter of Paul Crisp and the late Nikki Crisp.
