Pepsi Cola of Whittier Gives $5,000 for Student Scholarships

Pepsi-Cola of Whittier recently gave $5,000 for student scholarships.

Of that amount, four separate $1,000 scholarships will be given to SCC students while $1,000 was given in support of SCC’s New Century Scholars program.

Recipients of the Pepsi-Cola of Whittier scholarships for 2014-15 were (name, hometown, program): Kristeena Gray, Franklin, Human Services Technology program; Yesenia Navarro, Cullowhee, Health Information Technology; Jamee Pelcher, Franklin, College Transfer; and Kris-Anne Williams, Hayesville, Cyber Crime Technology.

Applicants for the Pepsi-Cola of Whittier Scholarship must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better, carry a minimum of nine hours and complete the Federal Application for Financial Student Aid. All SCC students are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
"At Pepsi we feel that investing in education is imperative for the future of the community," said Travis Ashe, Pepsi-Cola of Whittier’s area manager.
