SCC’s therapeutic massage program holds info session May 2

2016-04-27
SCC instructor Jenny Burgess will host an info session about the college’s therapeutic massage program for interested students at 5 p.m. on Monday, May 2, at the Jackson Campus.

The therapeutic massage program will host an information session at 5 p.m. on Monday May 2 at the Jackson Campus.

Instructor Jenny Burgess will show participants the program’s recently renovated rooms in Founders Hall as well as the new learning equipment such as a “muscle skeleton.” She will also discuss recent changes to the program, including a greater emphasis on the science of therapeutic massage.

“Our program prepares students to either go into other health science programs or to be able to confidently go in to the workfield,” said Burgess. “It is a very fast-paced and intense program, but many of my students have walked out less than a year after starting the program with the ability to make good money in a vast career field.”

Recent graduates are working in local spas, chiropractor offices, gyms, have opened their own private practices or have continued their education at SCC.

“This field is so wide that students of all interests leave with the skills to receive their license and create their careers to best fit their personalities and personal goals,” Burgess said.
