SCC Auto Club announces car show winners

Teresa Holbrooks’ 1955 Chevy 210 won first place in the “People’s Choice” category at SCC’s car show last month in Franklin. Holbrooks’ entry also won the “1974 & Older GM/Chevrolet Cars” division. Held in conjunction with the Mountain High BBQ Festival, the car show was coordinated and sponsored by Southwestern Community College’s Automotive Club. Other sponsors included Parts City, Smoky Mountain Chevrolet, Jacky Jones Automotive Group, Fat Buddies BBQ, Andy Shaw Ford, Advance Auto Parts and Stamey Performance. Holbrooks (left) received her trophy from Andrew Bennett (right), president of the SCC Auto Club. At center is Darren Chastain, owner and operator of Parts City. 
 
Nathan Hursey of Nathan’s Auto Body in Franklin won first place in the “Kids Choice” category at SCC’s car show last month in Franklin with his 1950 GMC truck. Held in conjunction with the Mountain High BBQ Festival, the car show was coordinated and sponsored by Southwestern Community College’s Automotive Club. Other sponsors included Parts City, Smoky Mountain Chevrolet, Jacky Jones Automotive Group, Fat Buddies BBQ, Andy Shaw Ford, Advance Auto Parts and Stamey Performance. Hursey (left) received her trophy from Andrew Bennett (blue shirt, standing beside Hursey), president of the SCC Auto Club. Rob and Polly Russell won the “1975 & Newer Ford/Mercury Cars” category at SCC’s car show last month in Franklin with their 2008 Ford Mustang-Sherrod. Held in conjunction with the Mountain High BBQ Festival, the car show was coordinated and sponsored by Southwestern Community College’s Automotive Club. Other sponsors included Parts City, Smoky Mountain Chevrolet, Jacky Jones Automotive Group, Fat Buddies BBQ, Andy Shaw Ford, Advance Auto Parts and Stamey Performance. 
 
Thomas Stanfield won the “1975 & Newer Dodge/Mopar Cars” category at SCC’s car show last month in Franklin with this 2014 Dodge Charger. Held in conjunction with the Mountain High BBQ Festival, the car show was coordinated and sponsored by Southwestern Community College’s Automotive Club. Other sponsors included Parts City, Smoky Mountain Chevrolet, Jacky Jones Automotive Group, Fat Buddies BBQ, Andy Shaw Ford, Advance Auto Parts and Stamey Performance. 
 
Gary Miller won the “1975 & Newer Trucks” category at SCC’s car show last month in Franklin with this 1993 Ford F150 Lightning. Held in conjunction with the Mountain High BBQ Festival, the car show was coordinated and sponsored by Southwestern Community College’s Automotive Club. Other sponsors included Parts City, Smoky Mountain Chevrolet, Jacky Jones Automotive Group, Fat Buddies BBQ, Andy Shaw Ford, Advance Auto Parts and Stamey Performance. 
 
Lyman Holland won the “1974 & Older Ford/Mercury Cars” category at SCC’s car show last month in Franklin with this 1970 Ford Mustang Boss. Dean Stiwinter won the “1974 & Older Dodge/Mopar Cars” category at SCC’s car show last month in Franklin with this 1967 Dodge Coronet R/T. Held in conjunction with the Mountain High BBQ Festival, the car show was coordinated and sponsored by Southwestern Community College’s Automotive Club. Other sponsors included Parts City, Smoky Mountain Chevrolet, Jacky Jones Automotive Group, Fat Buddies BBQ, Andy Shaw Ford, Advance Auto Parts and Stamey Performance.
