On May 8th Mr. Ivey was recognized at SCC's Commencement Ceremony for completing his Associate in Arts College Transfer, summa cum laude (GPA 3.95-4.0), as well as earning a Certificate in Web Technologies-Web Programming.
This night also marked Jakin's graduation from his Macon County Homeschool, Kyder Christian Academy. Through Career & College Promise, Jakin completed college courses while still in high school.
This fall he will continue his education at NC State with the assistance of the highly competitive Goodnight Scholarship. The Goodnight Scholarship covers the value of tuition and fees and is renewable for four years. But it's more than just money. The program provides exposure to industry, professional development training, social experiences & networking, along with an expectation to give back to the community. Goodnight Scholars are highly involved on campus and driven to make a difference in the community.
