2014-09-26

Tonya Snider will facilitate several seminars that are being offered free of charge this month through SCC’s Small Business Center.

In an effort to help small business owners and entrepreneurs, Southwestern Community College’s Small Business Center will offer a number of seminars covering a variety of topics throughout October.

The first of these, an overview of small business taxes, will be held at both SCC’s Macon Campus (2-5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2) and Jackson Campus (5:30-8:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 6).

Taught by Dean Kanipe, the class will cover requirements small business owners must meet when filing taxes as well as key dates and an overview of which records should be kept.

Following is a list of other upcoming seminars this month:

This seminar will be held from 6-9 p.m. on consecutive Tuesdays, Oct. 7 and Oct. 14, at SCC’s Jackson Campus.

Advanced QuickBooks for Small Business (Part Two): Williams will reveal advanced functions of QuickBooks such as bookkeeping basics, customer issues (invoicing and receivables) and more from 6-9 p.m. on Oct 21 and Oct. 28, also at SCC’s Jackson Campus.
