Q1) What motivates you to continue and excel at SCC in spite of circumstances you may face?

A1) My biggest motivation is my family.  I initially enrolled in continuing education classes back in 2001 when my daughter was nine years old.  I was a single mom who lost my job and for one year could not find employment because I had nothing to compete with other individuals looking for work.  I decided then that I would never be in that position again if I could help it.  I relocated twelve years ago and decided to put it on hold for a while then have had numerous health issues the last six years so I am just now getting back into things.  I am determined to see it through and graduate hopefully by May 2017.  It gets difficult at times especially with having a full-time job and a house to run where I am the sole supporter but my family gives me the support and motivation to continue to push forward.

Q2) What advice would you give to future students who might face similar situations?

A2) The best advice I can give future students is to work hard and stick to it.  No matter what happens in life you can do this and you deserve it.  Pace yourself, pace your work and give it your best effort.
