Our first Student of the Week is Brandi Bradley, who received the honor for the week starting Oct. 20. Here’s a brief Q&A with Brandi:

Q) What motivates you to continue and excel at SCC in spite of circumstances you may face?
A) The thing that motivated me the most to continue and excel despite my circumstances is that I know no one can do it for me and current circumstances will pass, but right now I am building MY future not just for me, but for my daughter. I am motivated to pave a better way of life for her and to set a good example for her. I can only hope one day she will learn from my perseverance and strive to build her future when the time comes to choose her own career. My daughter is my reason.

Q) What advice would you give to future students who might face similar situations?
A) The best advice I can give future SCC students is that even though circumstances may cause interference with continuing your education, where there is a will there is a way. If you strive to do better, and convince yourself that you wont let things life throws your way hinder you from making a brighter future for yourself then you can achieve great things Think it, believe it, do it! Do it for yourself, do it for your family, and do it for your future because no one else will do it for you and life may pass you by in the blink of an eye, so make it worth it!
