Employees may not attend classes during
regular working hours or during scheduled
meal periods without written prior approval
of the college president. Such requests are
to be submitted through the appropriate dean
or vice president utilizing the Request
to Take Class form. |

Attendance in classes during regular working
hours or during scheduled lunch periods will
not be approved unless such attendance is
considered to be in the best interest of the
college. :Best interest of the college"
is defined as attendance of an individual
course or pursuit of a degree which will,
upon completion, improve the ability or skill
of the employee to perform his/her current
position or prepare the employee to perform
in another capacity within the college.

In order to receive the tuition exemption,
the employee must complete the Request
to Take Class form for each curriculum
or non-self supporting extension education
class each semester and submit the form to
Human Resources prior to class registration.

To receive a tuition exemption for classes
taken at another community college, the employee
must contact Human Resources prior to registration
in order for a tuition exemption verification
letter to be sent to the appropriate personnel
at the other institution. |
