POLICIES & PROCEDURES FOR EMPLOYEES
 
Southwestern Community College - Policies and Procedures Manual
Procedure Title: Orientation / Exit Procedure 4.2.1

1. The appropriate Vice Presidents of the college are responsible for conducting orientation for each full-time employee who is employed and assigned to duties within their respective service areas.
2. The Employee Orientation Checklist form will be used for orientation of full-time employees and will be initialed in the space provided on the form.
3. The Employee Orientation Checklist is to be completed as directed by the appropriate Vice President as soon as possible after the employee is hired. The orientation subjects which are listed on the checklist are not all-inclusive and individual adjustments may be necessary.
4. The Employee Exit Check Sheet is to be completed in the same manner as the Employee Orientation Checklist. The completed Employee Exit Check Sheet will ensure that obligations to the college have been satisfied before the employee departs.
5. The Exit Interview Report Form is an optional form; however, encouragement should be extended to the departing employee to provide this information to the college.
6. Once the forms have the appropriate signatures, they should be submitted to the Office of Human Resources for inclusion in the employee's personnel file.
7. Orientation of part-time faculty is the responsibility of the immediate supervisor utilizing the Orientation Checklist form found in the Guidelines and Procedures for Part-Time Instructors.
