1.

The Service Awards Program recognizes employees’ service in increments of five years through retirement. The value of the award increases in proportion to length of service. For each five year increment, the employee receives a pin bearing the seal of the State of North Carolina and the following gems:

One 3 point synthetic sapphire
15
Two 3 point synthetic sapphires
20
Three 3 point synthetic sapphires
25
One genuine 3 point diamond
30
One 3 point synthetic sapphire and one 3 point genuine diamond
35
Two 3 point synthetic sapphires and one 3 point genuine diamond
40
Two genuine 3 point diamonds
45
Three genuine 3 point diamonds
50
Four genuine 3 point diamonds
2. Southwestern Community College will recognize the employees that have reached these five year benchmarks on an annual basis. The cutoff date for determination of eligibility will be no more than 60 days prior to the awards ceremony.
