Withholding
from Pay - In accordance with state
and federal statutes, deductions will be made
from all employee's pay as follows: |

Retirement
- all full-time employees are subject to retirement
in accordance with the policy set forth by
the sate of North Carolina. Employees are
eligible for North Carolina teachers and State
Employees Retirement plus social security.

Community College Vice President for Administrative
Services. |

Health
Insurance - is available to all full-time
College employees. Membership is voluntary.
Full-time employees may also purchase dental
insurance for family members. |

Dental
Insurance - is available to all full-time
College employees. Membership is voluntary.
Full-time employees may also purchase dental
insurance for family members. |
| |
d. |
Disability
Insurance - coverage is provided
to all full-time state employees through the
retirement system. Additional insurance is
available on a voluntary basis. |

e. |
Social
Security - a percentage of salary,
as determined by Congress, is deducted each
month. |
| |
f. |
Payroll
Deduction - transactions with the
N.C. State Employees' Credit Union are available
through payroll deduction. |
| |
g. |
Tax
Sheltered Annuities - are available
with companies which are approved by the Board
of Trustees. A list of approved companies
is available in the Business Office. |

h. |
Cancer
Insurance - is available with companies
approved by the Board of Trustees. A list
of approved companies is available in the
Business Office. |

i. |
Direct
Deposit - is available to all full-time
employees and will be mandatory for all new
employees hired after November 1, 1992.

Salary
Increases - The North Carolina
Community College System provides no automatic
salary increases. Salary increases granted
by the institution will be effective July
1 of any fiscal year provided sufficient
funds are made available by the General
Assembly for such a purpose and the increase
is deemed appropriate.

Payment
of Salaries - Salary pay will normally
be on the last working day of each month.
|
| 4. |
Part-time
Instructional Personnel |
| |
a. |
Salary
pay for part-time instructors and short course
instructors will be one time per semester
at the end of the class(es) or semester work
or end of the contract, whichever is later.
Exceptions may be made by the President upon
petition by the Vice President for Instruction
and Student Services. |

b. |
All
contracts, withholding forms, time sheets,
and any changes to be made on payroll items
must be in the Business Office by the 15th
of each month. Any payroll information received
after the 15th will be included on the following
month's payroll. |
