The course is split into two segments. The first segment (half of class) is cognitive learning in a classroom environment. The second segment (half of class) consists of cognitive and psychomotor learning in which the students are split in half to allow for the students to drive in the simulator while the other half review case studies. The second segment is separated by one hour blocks to allow for the students to have adequate time frames in driving and reviewing the case studies. The course consists of topics such as roll over prevention, intersection safety, soft shoulder reaction, driving in adverse conditions, reaction to uncontrollable environments, reaction times, and many more topics which can not be taught while operating an apparatus on the roadway.
