Residency Process
(United States citizens only)

READ THIS BEFORE YOU COMPLETE YOUR APPLICATION FOR NC RESIDENCY

Must submit a completed residency application form that can be obtained in the Registrar’s Office, Admissions, or downloaded from the bottom of this page.
Proof of residency must be provided along with the residency application. Some examples of proof of residency are as follows:
· A copy of North Carolina driver’s license
· A copy of North Carolina income tax return
· Proof of registered vehicle with the state of North Carolina

IMPORTANT NOTE:
If the individual does not have a valid North Carolina driver’s license or was unemployed during the previous year and did not file taxes; they may submit a copy of their lease, property tax, car registration, bank statements, or copies of power or phone bills to prove residency.
No one piece of documentation, however, justifies proof of in-state residency.
Regardless of acquired North Carolina documentation, individuals who are being claimed on their parent’s taxes who are residents of other states are ineligible for in-state residency.
