Well,
folks this is the moment we have been waiting for. The Report
of the Offiste Reaffirmation Committee is attached, and I
think you will be pleased. The committee found seven (7) areas
of noncompliance. This is lowest number that Delos and I have
seen from an offsite team, so you should be very proud of
your work and of our institution (the most common number for
a recent sampling of NC community colleges was 14).
Institutional
effectiveness, general ed competencies, and faculty credentials
are typically among the commonly cited areas for colleges,
and these were among our seven (along with a couple of financial
items). As you read the report, you will see that the team
complimented the institution in several areas. Even with faculty
credentials, they found that the vast majority are well qualified,
and identified only six adjunct instructors for further review
(which is an extraordinarily small number of questions relating
to faculty qualifications).
The
seven areas of noncompliance are: 2.5, 2.11, 3.3.1, 3.4.1,
3.5.1, 3.7.1, and 3.10.4.
Our
conference call Dr. Michael Johnson to discuss this report
and the response that we will develop is scheduled for 10:00
on Wednesday June 14 in the Board Room. You are welcome to
come for this meeting (please be there by 9:50 if you plan
to attend).
Thank
you again for your fine work in producing a well-developed,
persuasive compliance report!
