Southwestern
Community College is a member institution of the North
Carolina Community College System (1).
The North Carolina General Statutes (N.C.G.S.), Chapter
115D -1, authorize the State Board of Community Colleges
to establish the College (2
& 3).
One
of the powers and duties of trustees is to apply the
standards and requirements for admission and graduation
of students as established by the State Board of Community
Colleges (4,
5, & 6).The
North Carolina Administrative Code (N.C.A.C.), Title
23, gives the College the authority to issue degrees,
diplomas, and certificates to individuals who satisfactorily
complete course and program requirements (7).
