Southwestern
Community College follows North Carolina Community College
System (NCCCS) regulations for determining the amount
and level of credit awarded for courses, regardless of
format or mode of delivery, at the associate degree, diploma
and certificate levels of curriculum courses and for Continuing
Education courses including Basic Skills and Occupational
Extension.
Curriculum
The College follows the requirements established for
credit to be awarded for courses by the North Carolina
Community College System as published in the Common
Course Library (CCL) (1).
The CCL identifies the amount of credit, the level of
credit, and the distribution of credit for all courses
that may be offered by colleges in the NCCCS. Credit
awarded for all courses offered by the College –
regardless of format or mode of delivery – is
consistent with the requirements from the CCL.

CCL) are determined by the North Carolina Administrative

and include one semester hour credit for each: |

Education
The College follows the requirements established by

for determining the amount and level of credit awarded
for classes in Occupational Extension and Basic Skills
courses. The College also adheres to the guidelines
of the NCCC System with respect to the granting of Continuing
Education units and certificates. (4)
