The
College publishes the academic calendar, grading policy
and refund policy in a variety of print formats and on
the College website. Each is approved by the College’s
Board of Trustees and is included in the Policies and
Procedures Manual (1,
2, &
3).
The
academic calendar is published during the spring semester
for the next academic year. It appears in the next academic
year’s catalog (4),
student handbook (5)
and on the College website (6).
Each semester, the academic calendar appears in the
curriculum schedule of classes (7)
that is published as an insert to area newspapers and
placed in designated racks throughout the College’s
service area.
The
grading policy defines the grades to be awarded, requires
a 2.00 GPA for graduation, outlines the method for determining
a student’s GPA and excludes transfer credits
from GPA calculation. The policy appears in the College
catalog (8),
student handbook (9)
and on the College website (10).
Each faculty member is required to develop and distribute
a course syllabus to students that outlines the course
grading policy and includes the grading scale, method
of evaluation and weights for assignments/activities
(11).
The
refund policy defines the parameters for issuing refunds
for curriculum and continuing education courses and
programs. The policy appears in the next academic year’s
catalog (12)
and on the College website (13).
