Cultural Enrichment

We offer a wide variety of cultural and enrichment activities designed to improve participant's experiential background and to enhance their self-concept and leadership skills.

Cultural Enrichment Activities are free and open to all program participants, however seating is limited so students are encouraged to sign up early. SSS staff reserves the right to decline students from participating in cultural enrichment events if needed.

Dec 15 Holiday Pops Concert: The Asheville Symphony Orchestra
The Asheville Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Daniel Meyers rolls into Cullowhee for an evening of traditional music for the holidays featuring the Asheville Chorus and the Asheville Symphony Children's Chorus.

"Out of the Mist A Dragon" uses reproductions of the classic Bunraku puppets of Japan to conjure a young man's journey of self-discovery while "An Ire-ish Tale" is a wild tale of hilarity with outlandish "larger than life" body puppets and elaborate, rod-style elves.
Mar 1 Cirque Le Masque - WCU
The internationally renowned Cirque amazes audiences around the world with their theatrical stage show. The world's most outstanding artists, colorful costumes, exciting design and lighting all contribute to the artistry of the performers as they defy the laws of gravity.
Feb 1 The Fine & Performing Arts Center at WCU presents:
Ol' Time Religion: On Tour With The American Spiritual Ensemble - Composed of some of the finest singers in the U.S., the uplifting ensemble brings an educational and inspirational concert about the history of the American Negro Spiritual to Cullowhee. Leave SCC at 5:00 p.m. for dinner and show.
