To
receive this manual
you had an SSS
intake assessment
that determined
whether or not
you qualify for
SSS participation.
We only give this
manual to people
who are selected
for program services,
so you met the
SSS eligibility
criteria, you
were interested
in our services,
and you decided
to become an active
SSS participant
by signing the
intake document.
Your signature
indicates a decision
to be counted
as an official
SSS participant
and a commitment
to being actively
involved in the
SSS activities
and services that
will help you
succeed at SCC.
As
already mentioned
in the intake
assessment, the
minimum number
of contacts with
your advisor (in
person, by phone,
email, note under
the door, post
card, etc.) is
five (5) times
a semester for
the first year
and three (3)
times a semester
thereafter. However,
we recommend that
you aim at making
contact with your
advisor every
week (or every
other week). That
way contacting
us will become
a regular part
of your schedule
and you will have
regular opportunities
to get up-to-date
information.
