Registered Nurse Julie Naegler graduated in May of 2008 and started working at Harris Regional Hospital the very next month. “I was hired right after my clinicals at Harris Regional during my last semester of nursing school,” said Julie, mother of three girls. “I loved Southwestern because with three girls I needed flexible hours. Plus, Southwestern prepared me extremely well for a career I truly love.” On her job she “administers medications, carries out doctors orders and communicates with the physicians to provide the best possible care for my patients.” Julie said she loves it now when the current RN students do clinical with her because she looks for extra opportunities for them to learn. “I know that was what I enjoyed during clinicals. I feel well prepared to teach them and it’s an interesting twist to be the teacher now, rather than the student.”
