“The interaction in the class room at Southwestern Community College is priceless,” said June Tassillo, real estate broker pre-license alumni. “You learn beside local people whom you may work with one day and you create friendships that last a life time.

“As an older student I had some initial self-doubt about my ability to complete the course, especially the math portion. But I worked hard and passed with flying colors,” said June, who decided to get her real estate license to enhance her husband Joe’s custom home building business. Joe drafts, as well as builds, custom homes and his business, Future Homes, was growing so fast he could no longer handle all the work himself so June quit her job and started a new career in real estate.

Currently a realtor, broker associate at Classic GMAC Real Estate, June says she uses her SCC training every day in her career.

“I like researching property and its history and meeting people so this is the perfect job for me,” she said. “”In the building of a home I like to help our clients pick out all the electrical, flooring and colors they choose and watch their dream home come alive.”
