Currently

You may notice several
video cameras around campus. This internet-based
system will provide added security while
also allowing the public an external,
on-line view of the SCC Jackson Campus
and eventually all off-campus centers.
The initial rollout of the system will
consist of four external cameras with
external views of the Sylva Campus and
the Swain Center. These web-cams will
be accessible from the SCC website and
open to the public. These cameras should
prove helpful during periods of inclement
weather as we monitor the conditions
in the area.
Additionally, several internal cameras
will be located in public access spaces
on campus such as corridors and the
student lounge. These may be monitored
remotely by security personnel and administrative
staff for these areas but not accessible
to the public. The purpose of these
cameras is to deter theft and vandalism
and to assist our security officers
in providing a safe campus in which
to learn and work. |
