- Applicants must be pursuing a degree in Automotive Systems Technology
- Recipient must have an incoming GPA of at least 2.5 and maintain a 3.0 GPA or better within the Automotive Systems Technology curriculum
- Preference is given for students from all Western North Carolina counties from Haywood County westward
- The recipient is encouraged to visit Andy Shaw Ford to meet leadership team
