High School Students

Southwestern Community College supports four programs for middle and high school students in our service area. These FREE programs serve a wide range of students.

Career & College Promise and Early College High School offer qualified students the opportunity to earn college credit tuition free while in high school.
New Century Scholars program provides support, encouragement and incentive to selected students from Jackson, Macon and Swain counties beginning in the 7th grade.
Upward Bound is a college preparatory program for eligible high school students funded by the United States Department of Education as a TRIO program.
Project SHIFT seeks to advance education and science by exposing high school students to health science programs.
