Any SCC student may schedule appointments with skilled Tutors who are earning/have earned College Reading & Learning Association Certification Level I and II. They provide free in-house and online assistance with curriculum courses that might challenge patience and the brain! Tutors are positive role models who promote academic excellence and professional behavior.

How often may I get help?

You may schedule one session or multiple sessions. After scheduling your first appointment, we will contact you to confirm it and ask if you need more help.

By-appointment tutoring is not available during the summer except for special circumstances.

What are the requirements for becoming a Tutor?

We always are looking for individuals who will positively contribute to the success of students! Peer Tutors are currently enrolled at SCC and have earned a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and an "A" or a "B" in each course being coached.
To view the requirements to become a Non-Peer Tutor, click the link and then complete the online application.

Are you an SCC faculty member and know someone who would be an effective tutor?

If so, please share a tutor flyer (PDF) with the student who meets the requirements as well as displays the aptitude and a professional attitude. Thank you!
