By-Appointment Learning Assistance

Print

Any SCC student may schedule appointments with skilled Tutors who are earning/have earned College & Learning Association certification Levels I and II. They provide free, in-house and online assistance with curriculum courses that might challenge patience and the brain! Tutors are positive role models who promote academic excellence and professional behavior.

How often may I get help?

You may schedule one session or multiple sessions. After scheduling your first appointment, we will contact you to confirm it and ask if you need more help.

What are the requirements for becoming a Tutor?

We always are looking for individuals who will positively contribute to the success of students! Peer Tutors are currently enrolled at SCC and have earned a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and an "A" or a "B" in each course being coached.
To view the requirements to become a Non-Peer Tutor, click the link and then complete the online application.

Are you an SCC faculty member and know someone who would be an effective tutor?

If so, please share a tutor flyer with the student who meets the requirements as well as displays the aptitude and a professional attitude. Thank you!
