Harris, Swain 'Healthcare Scholars' program offers free tuition, expenses

Harris Regional & Swain Community Hospitals are offering a new “Healthcare Scholars” program that will provide last-dollar tuition and other financial support for SCC students in the Health Sciences fields represented in this photo. The Harris & Swain Healthcare Scholars Program provides last-dollar tuition support as well as funding for books, supplies and other expenses associated with pursuing a healthcare career through SCC.

The program is for both prospective and current students in 10 of the 17 Health Sciences career pathways offered at Southwestern:

  • Nursing
  • Nurse Aide
  • Emergency Medical Science
  • Medical Assisting
  • Medical Laboratory Technology
  • Medical Sonography
  • Phlebotomy
  • Radiography
  • Respiratory Therapy
  • Surgical Technology

It’s a genuine win-win scenario: Our students get the bulk of their college expenses covered and are guaranteed employment upon graduation, and our local hospitals are able to fill some much needed positions with some of the most-qualified and best-trained healthcare professionals in the nation.”
