Interested in a new career?

To help you connect with prospective employers, Southwestern Community College has a pair of job fairs coming up on Oct. 1 at the SCC Macon Campus in Franklin.

The first event, scheduled for 1-4 p.m., is for job-seekers interested in full-time, seasonal, part-time, professional or entry-level positions of all kinds. Employers from business, education, government, nonprofit, healthcare, food services, hospitality, tourism, the outdoor industry and more will be in attendance.

Then from 6-8 p.m., a Trades Job & Skilled Labor Fair will provide opportunities for full-time, seasonal, part-time, professional and entry-level jobs – as well as apprenticeships - in professional trades and skilled labor occupations for automotive, electrical, building, plumbing, HVAC welding manufacturing and other technical skills.

“We decided to expand our fall job fair because employers in the trades professions have expressed a tremendous need for skilled workers, and many area businesses in other fields are also looking for reliable employees as well,” said Michael Despeaux, Director of Career Services at SCC. “Whether you’re an alumnus of SCC, a college or high school student or an area resident looking for work, we will have opportunities for you to explore.”

Job seekers are encouraged to dress professionally and bring resumes.
