Waiver Form - Waiver of Prerequisites or Corequisites requires completion of the Request to Waive a Prerequisite/Corequisite form.

SCC's approach to Prerequisites/Corequisites, Waivers, and Course Substitutions

  • Prerequisites/Corequisites requirements are in the student's best interest.
  • A clear rationale for waiving these requirements is necessary.
  • Documentation of waivers is required for audit purposes.

Prerequisites/Corequisites Checking

Prerequisites/Corequisites are listed in course descriptions.

If a waiver is appropriate, advisors should complete the Waiver form.

Currently Enrolled in PreRequisite

If a student is currently enrolled in a prerequisite during pre-registration, they will be allowed to registrar, but will receive a notice and be withdrawn if they do not complete the prerequisite.

Auditing/Special Credit

Auditing and Special Credit students must satisfy corequisites/prerequisites
