Running a small business or nonprofit is rewarding, but can also come with unexpected challenges like storms, staffing issues, economy changes and more.
An all-day summit is being held from 9am – 3pm on Sept. 23 in the Burrell Building on Southwestern Community College’s Jackson Campus to bring people together for honest conversations, practical ideas and helpful resources. There is no cost to attend.
“Small business owners and nonprofit directors will benefit a ton from attending this summit,” said Marne Harris, Director of SCC’s Small Business Center. “There’s no way to prepare for every possible scenario, but there are some guiding principles that will make all the difference the next time the unexpected happens.”
Several different speakers will provide guidance based on real-world experiences and lead discussions with business owners and nonprofit leaders so they can prepare, adapt and keep moving forward when things do not go as planned.
A break will be provided for attendees to get lunch on their own. Time will also be available to connect with other small business owners, nonprofit leaders and community partners.
