Writing Across the Curriculum

At Southwestern Community College, we are dedicated to creating a culture of writing.  We are committed to giving our students varied opportunities to improve their writing skills within their chosen disciplines, encouraging them to think more critically. We do this through our Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) program.

Established in 2006, the WAC program works on two levels:  the training and support of faculty members from a broad range of disciplines and the fostering of student writing abilities through in-class workshops.  The WAC program also works closely with other student support mechanisms on campus – the Learning Assistance Center, Student Support Services, and the Holt Library.
