Work-Based Learning

Work-Based Learning (Internships)

What is Work-Based Learning (WBL)?

As the name implies, Work-Based Learning (WBL) is education based upon a work-related arrangement by Southwestern Community College and approved work sites. The goal is to provide practical working/learning experiences for SCC students, and give the student roots in our tri-county area.

At the end of the WBL, academic credit is given and used to satisfy graduation requirements.

The program is built with flexibility to work with the schedule of both students and work sites.

Students typically work 10-20 hours per week, gaining hands-on experience while also taking on-campus classes.

Southwestern Community College is proud of our program and has a proven track record of WBL Successes.
