GED ® /HiSET TEST PREPARATION CLASSES

The High School Equivalency (HSE) program at Southwestern Community College offers adults who did not complete a formal high school program the opportunity to earn their high school credential. Prepare for the GED ® or HiSET tests with the help of our instructors. Our classroom instruction is based on best practices in adult education and we target our lessons to help students develop the skills and knowledge they will need to pass a high school equivalency exam. It's okay if you have been out of school for a long time. We work with students at all levels in reading, writing, mathematics, social studies, and science. Courses are competency-based and there are no costs for tuition, books or materials. Our class sessions run year-round and classes are held at a variety of locations. Regular attendance is required.

When you and your instructors believe that your skills are high enough to pass a GED® or HiSET test, you will be assisted to register for a testing session. There is a per-test fee for both tests. If you have been studying for the GED ® or HiSET test through Southwestern Community College’s High School Equivalency Program, you may be eligible for financial assistance with the test fees and with certain curriculum programs. Please see our Basic Skills Plus program or ask your instructors for more information.

Minor students (ages 16 or 17) must submit a release from the public school and parental permission is required for enrollment.
