Because students come first at Southwestern, we have a number of resources to assist you when you are away from the classroom. Whether you are a student looking for ways to move your writing to the next level, seeking tutoring assistance, looking for help in receiving accommodations due to a disability, or simply in need of a conversation with an academic consultant or advisor to move you forward, we always strive to accommodate your academic request.

Student Support Services

Student Support Services (SSS)

Student Support Services is a free program available to eligible students interested in achieving their goals of graduating or transferring. To be eligible, students must have graduated from high school or obtained a GED, have a demonstrated need for academic support, be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and satisfy one of the following criteria: Be a first-generation college student (neither parent has a four-year college degree), meet income eligibility requirements, or have a documented disability.

What is Career Services?

SCC's Career Services offers all students with both in-person services and online tools to help identify academic pathways of interest and explore different career paths. Our goal is to help students become successfully employed contributors to the regional community and economy.

Policy

Southwestern Community College operates under the Open-Door Policy of the North Carolina Community College System. Students are admitted without regard to race, religion, sex, color, creed, national origin, age or disability.
