Human Services Technology professionals work with mentally, developmentally or emotionally ill or impaired individuals. They work with other team members who may include psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, counselors or therapists. They help people reach goals established in a therapeutic plan for their care. This involves working on goals in personal care, independent living, health care and social, recreational and employment activities.  Human Services professionals have close contact with patients, helping them keep track of progress toward goals, barriers to reaching those goals and emergence of new goals.
