What motivates you to continue and excel at SCC in spite of circumstances you may face?
My mother motivates me the most. I want to make her proud, and I know that pushing myself to be all that I know I can be makes her the most proud. Being able to tell her about how well I am doing puts a smile on her face and that in turn makes me happy. The past two months she has been critically ill in the hospital, but instead of missing classes and assignments I decided to persevere and do what I know she would want me to do.

What advice would you give to future students who might face similar situations?
To future students who may be facing similar situations, I would advice to take a look at the bigger picture and focus on that. What are you here for? What are you trying to accomplish by being here? Think about that and let that push you to finish what you are trying to achieve to the best of your abilities.
