He was sworn in for his second four-year term on Tuesday, July 8, by Ann Melton, clerk of court for Jackson County.

“Mr. Davidson has been a tremendous advocate for Southwestern Community College, and we could not be more pleased that the Jackson County Commissioners have reappointed him to our board of trustees,” said Dr. Don Tomas, president of SCC. “He also serves on the board of directors for our SCC Foundation, and he’s played an important role in our Student Success Campaign and in planning our ‘Wine & Dine Under the Stars’ gala in Cashiers (July 19).”

A resident of Yellow Mountain, Davidson was first appointed to Southwestern’s board of trustees in 2010.

Davidson previously served for 11 years as development director and deputy director of the Region A Partnership for Children. He also previously served for eight years on the board of the Jackson County Public Library. He served one term as vice chair and two terms as chair of the Fontana Library System, and he served 11 years on the Board of the Carolina Mountain Trust for Children and Youth.
