Holt Reappointed to SCC Board of Trustees

Sylva attorney W. Paul Holt, Jr. was recently reappointed to Southwestern Community College’s Board of Trustees by the Jackson County Board of Education.  He currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

Holt has served on SCC’s Board since its inception in 1968, including terms as Chairman.  He also founded and served as the first chairman of the Southwestern Community College Foundation.  The library on the SCC Jackson County campus bears his name in recognition of his more than 40 years of dedicated service to the institution.   He and his wife, former Sylva Mayor Brenda Oliver Holt, reside in Sylva.

continue to work with Mr. Holt to serve the citizens and students of our region. ”

Holt also served for 50 years as board attorney for the Jackson County Board of Education, is a past president of the Sylva Rotary Club, Jackson Savings and Loan and the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce.
