Starting on April 9, new and returning students can register for summer and fall classes at Southwestern Community College.

A wide variety of classes are available this summer, and many academic programs at SCC are already accepting applications for the fall semester.

Here's a link to a listing of classes currently available this summer.

Southwestern offers training for more than 40 career fields – including 17 healthcare professions. Respiratory Therapy, Opticianry, Therapeutic Massage, Surgical Technology and others have limited space remaining.

“We only accept students once a year for many of our programs, so now is the best time to turn in an application,” said Dr. Thom Brooks, Executive Vice President for Instruction and Student Services. “We also encourage returning and prospective students to fill out their FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form if they’ve not already done so.”

New and currently enrolled students may be eligible for Next NC - a new state-funded scholarship that covers all tuition and fees at SCC starting this fall.

Southwestern also offers an abundance of scholarships through the SCC Foundation as well as other financial aid options.

New students can get started at SouthwesternCC.edu, or they can contact the Admissions Office at 828.339.4000 or admissions@SouthwesternCC.edu.

Prospective Health Sciences students can contact Pamela Judson at pjudson@SouthwesternCC.edu or 828.339.4198.
