Counseling

Counseling services at SCC are free. The Student Counselor can meet students at any campus location (Jackson, Macon or Swain) for a face-to-face session or consultation. Telephone or video sessions are also options in order to ensure accessibility to counseling services for all students.

If you don’t have privacy elsewhere, both the Macon and Swain campuses have dedicated rooms with computers set up for counseling video meetings.

HOURS OF OPERATION:

8 a.m.-5 p.m. (Monday through Thursday)

8 a.m.-noon (Friday)

LOCATION:

Jackson Campus

Balsam Center

Room 113

(Ongoing sessions scheduled after the initial meeting as needed.)

We can also provide students with referrals to agencies in the area such as  Meridian Health Services/Blue Ridge Health, Appalachian Community Services, REACH, Center for Domestic Peace and other community providers and resources that will address your individual needs. Otherwise, if a student is already in counseling services outside of SCC (in the community), we offer supplemental support through the Student Counselor at SCC with an appropriate release of information to coordinate care with your current provider.
