Nursing, WNC RIBN

A QUICK INTRO

Want to pursue a bachelor's degree in Nursing? Through WNC RIBN, you will dually enroll at Southwestern Community College and Western Carolina University for a four-year, seamless associate to baccalaureate nursing education. Unlike in a traditional university BSN program, you will have the opportunity to begin working as an RN at the end of your third year in this option and pay mostly community college tuition rates.

WHAT YOU STUDY

Course work includes and builds upon the domains of healthcare, nursing practice, and the holistic individual. Content emphasizes the nurse as a member of the interdisciplinary team providing safe, individualized care while employing evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and informatics.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

Graduates of this program are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN). Employment opportunities are vast within the global health care system and may include positions within acute, chronic, extended, industrial, and community health care facilities.
