Just the facts:
- Faculty are eligible to receive a $150 stipend to convert a completely online course (WC) to Moodle prior to February 28, 2019
- Faculty can receive a stipend (with support of their academic dean) to convert a Hybrid (HY) course prior to February 28, 2019
- To qualify for the stipend, courses (both Hybrid and Web-Centered) must be reviewed by an e-learning staff member, and judged to meet all qualifications of the modified Course Readiness Review
Except in cases approved by the academic dean, only one stipend will be processed for each course. Faculty should collaboratively choose the faculty member who will perform the initial conversion, then other faculty are welcome to modify a copy of the converted course to their liking.
How do I get started?
- Choose the course you plan to convert by indicating it on this Google Sheet (Identify the Bb course which contains material you would like to use in development if appropriate)
- Attend a Moodle Conversion Lab (optional) to walk through suggestions on how to convert the materials most efficiently
- Request review of your Newly Converted Moodle Course (Just send an email to b_emory@southwesterncc.edu)
What if?
- I do not see an online course (that will need converted) in the spreadsheet?
- Email Bethany Emory b_emory@southwesterncc.edu and let her know (Also be sure you have checked the appropriate division tab at the bottom :)
- My class is web supported/enhanced?
- We do not currently have stipends to cover conversion of these materials, however we will be happy to bring over as much of the materials as possible. Feel free to attend a Moodle Conversion lab for ideas on how to do this most effectively.
- I have too many courses to convert!
- We suggest that faculty take on no more than 5 courses. Above and beyond that we are happy to assist in the e-learning area. Even if you have less than that, and prefer not to take advantage of the stipend program, just indicate that on the spreadsheet.
