Dozens of car enthusiasts brought their vintage vehicles and muscle cars to the Southwestern Community College Automotive Club’s annual car show on Aug. 12-13 at the Wayne Proffitt Agricultural Center.
Hundreds of area residents checked out all the wild and cool exhibits, and they selected Dave Finn’s 1944 Willys-Overland entry as the “People’s Choice” winner. Second place in the category went to Homer Holbrooks’ 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air, and the “Kids’ Choice” award went to Mike Hundley for his 2012 Chevy Camaro.
“We had beautiful weather for this year’s show, and we were extremely pleased with the turnout,” said David Myers, coordinator and instructor for SCC’s automotive systems technology program. “Every dollar we raised will support our students through the SCC Automotive Club, so we’re grateful to everyone who exhibited a vehicle as well as everyone who voted.”
