BibliU now operating college store

2026-05-20

SCC's Jackson CampusSouthwestern Community College today announced a new partnership with BibliU, a provider of digital learning content and campus store solutions, to operate SCC’s Jackson Campus store and support the college’s launch of a flat-rate course materials program.

This initiative aims to reduce course material costs and ensure students have access to required digital resources from the first day of class.

“We are partnering with BibliU to modernize our campus store and streamline course material accessibility,” said Dr. Barbara Putman, SCC's Executive Vice President for Instruction & Student Services. "Students having course materials available at the start of classes is key to their success. The BibliU team shares our focus on student success and making materials available and affordable while retaining faculty flexibility in selecting quality, current course materials to support learning."

The new flat-rate model will provide students with access to required digital course materials at a consistent per-credit-hour rate, reducing the uncertainty of traditional textbook pricing and supporting a more transparent, student-centered approach to affordability. Students will continue to have choice and flexibility, including the ability to opt out of the program each semester before the applicable deadline.

Through BibliU’s digital learning platform, students can access required materials directly through the learning management system and use tools designed to support learning, including offline access, highlighting, notes, search, text-to-speech, and other accessibility features. Faculty will also have access to real-time engagement insights, including when and how often students access required texts, how much time they spend in study sessions, and which sections of a textbook students are using most. These analytics can help faculty identify students who may need earlier support and evaluate how assigned materials are being used to inform future course material decisions.

In addition to providing access to course materials, BibliU will manage SCC’s physical and online campus store operations. The refreshed campus store experience will include updated retail operations, expanded merchandise and supplies, and an e-commerce storefront designed to better serve students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the broader SCC community.

“For BibliU, there’s something especially meaningful about partnering with an institution as highly regarded as Southwestern Community College,” said Dave Sherwood, Founder & CEO of BibliU. “Ranked among the nation’s top ten community colleges multiple times, SCC’s dedication to student success is unmatched. Their commitment to improving affordability and access for students is clear in every part of this initiative — from day-one access to course materials to creating a more modern and welcoming campus store experience.”

The partnership reflects SCC’s continued commitment to removing barriers to student success by making essential learning resources more accessible, affordable, and easier to navigate.
