Jack Moore graduated from Southwestern Community College in May with several achievements already under his belt.
In March he placed second at the student talent show playing the piano. Throughout the semester, his honors project involved making a hiking map outlining trails within a 20-minute drive of Franklin, allowing him to become an honors program graduate while receiving his Associate in Science degree Summa Cum Laude.
Upon graduating from SCC, he received the Henry & Jo Durham Sigma Chi Transfer Scholarship. The $500 award, managed by the Sigma Chi Foundation, is given annually to a male SCC student graduating with high academic achievement and transferring to Western Carolina University in the following semester.
Starting WCU this fall, Moore plans on majoring in Computer Information Systems with the goal of starting his own business.
