Twenty Southwestern Community College students were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society during a ceremony on Nov. 13 on the college’s Jackson Campus.
Inductees must hold at least a 3.5 Grade Point Average, be nominated by a teaching faculty member and rank among the top 20 percent of active students in their respective programs.
“It’s not easy to maintain high grades in these programs, and many of these students are juggling jobs, families or both,” said Dr. Barbara Putman, SCC’s Executive Vice President for Instruction and Student Services. She also serves as Southwestern’s NTHS advisor.
“We’re extremely proud of every single one of these inductees,” Dr. Putman added. “They are working hard and putting themselves in a position to be successful in their future careers.”
