Eleven graduates of Southwestern Community College’s respiratory therapy program were recognized during a May 5 pinning ceremony at the Jackson Campus.

Students honored during the ceremony include: Jordan Bender of Hiwassee, Ga.; Karson Fleet, Cullowhee; Jennifer Grindel, Cullowhee; Michaela Hensley, Clyde; Christopher Jenkins, Franklin; Heather Little, Murphy; Melissa McCubbin, Andrews; Ashley Moyer, Hayesville; Callie Nichols, Waynesville; Maegan Rathbone, Cullowhee; and Faith Williamson, Franklin.

All graduates are eligible to take entry level examinations from the National Board of Respiratory Care and are also eligible for the Advanced Practitioner exam.

Employment in the respiratory therapy field includes positions in hospitals, clinics, doctor’s offices, nursing homes and other healthcare facilities.
