Abby Jones of Robbinsville and Destiny George of Bryson City, were awarded the 2013 SECU Foundation Scholarship in the amount of $5,000 each.  Both recipients will use their scholarships in pursuit of degrees at Southwestern Community College.

The SECU Foundation established its community college scholarship program in 2006.  The program assists students at each of the 58 community colleges in the North Carolina Community College System.

Each North Carolina community college receives two $5,000 scholarships, representing an annual financial commitment to the entire community college system of up to $580,000.  The scholarships are funded solely by the membership of the State Employees’ Credit Union.
